Day two of the dig (Sunday 27th) was dry and breezy with the work well underway.
As the trenches deepen, the different soil materials are becoming evident.
#19 King Alfred Place has two neat trenches, with softer soil and an array of buttons and china coming up.
#8 King Alfred Terrace has more rocks and stones, evidence of what could be a wall, and what looks like the pipe hole of a loo.
#14 King Alfred Terrace has a more tricky shape and lots of building rubble/foundations to get through.
